Use of single-use plastic is banned, yet we use it for packaging and as containers for consumer products like cosmetics, food and beverages, toiletries, single use plastic plates, cups, glass, cutlery, etc.
We can curb plastic pollution only when we stop using plastic in product packaging of any kind.
I had:
- five 2 liter empty bottles of of Pepsi Cola, Coca Cola, Sprite and 7Up.
- few plastic straw
- packaging material viz. thermacol, plastic wraps and cotton rags
I, decided to team along with my sister, Joshika Gupta; Aunt, Smt. Bharti Gupta and Mother, Smt. Sharmila Sen and use all this to make a flower pot. I then used few more materials and tools:
- Cement
- Adhesive tape
- Stapler pins
- Oil paint
- Paint brush
- Paint thinner
- Cloth rag to wipe and clean paint brush
- Newspaper to cover the desk on which I crafted the flower pot
- Sand
- Water
- Broken plastic bowl to make cement mix
- Broken plastic plate as paint palette
